On Friday morning, Hawkins Mikita hosted Cynthia Nixon, candidate for Governor of New York, for a Pride Breakfast in Manhattan to introduce the progressive candidate to LGBTQ professionals and allies in the entertainment and nonprofit industries.
Cynthia Nixon is a life-long New Yorker and progressive advocate fighting for a better, more equal New York. For years, Cynthia has been at the forefront of fighting LGBTQ equality. In 2010, Cynthia helped create Fight Back New York, an effort to remove state Senators opposed to same-sex marriage. The campaign ultimately raised $800,000 and helped elect three new Senators in support of marriage equality.
Moreover, she is a fierce advocate for better schools and more equitable education funding all across the state, women’s reproductive rights, and so much more.
